Glossar T1 document
The T1 document is an accompanying document for so-called non-Community goods, i.e. goods that were manufactured outside the EU and are now being transported within the EU. Transport through a third country is also possible under certain conditions.
The T1 document is opened by Customs at the point of departure and closed at Customs clearanceat the point of destination. A maximum of 8 days may lie in between.
The T1 document must contain precise information, for example about the consignor and consignee, the total number of packages and the total weight, the number of seals and the customs tariff number. The purpose of this document is the complete traceability of the goods from the consignor to the consignee, so that an exchange of goods is made impossible. It is also intended to ensure that everything is correctly cleared through customs.
